About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Bioinformatics Intern to support our bioinformatics team in analyzing biological and genomic data. This internship is an opportunity to gain practical experience in computational biology, genomic data analysis, and bioinformatics tools while working on real-world projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in processing, analyzing, and interpreting genomic and biological datasets.
• Support bioinformatics workflows for next-generation sequencing (NGS) data.
• Perform basic sequence analysis, quality control, and data visualization.
• Use programming and scripting tools to automate data analysis tasks.
• Assist with data cleaning, organization, and documentation.
• Collaborate with the bioinformatics team on research and diagnostic-related projects.
• Follow established data handling, confidentiality, and quality standards.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Basic understanding of molecular biology and genetics.
• Familiarity with Python or R for data analysis.
• Knowledge of cloud systems.
• Understanding of DNA sequencing technologies and NGS concepts is A MUST.
• Familiarity with biological databases and sequence analysis tools such as NCBI BLAST is preferred.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
• Exposure to FASTQ, FASTA, BAM, or VCF file formats.
• Familiarity with NGS quality control tools such as FastQC.
• Basic understanding of bioinformatics pipelines and genomic variant analysis.
