About the role

We are looking for an AI-native Senior Forward Development Engineer with strong expertise in Flutter and good hands-on experience with React and Java (Spring Boot), who can design and build scalable services and web applications for large-scale public health and governance platforms.

By AI-native, we mean an engineer who treats AI as a core part of how software is designed, built, tested, and shipped. Using AI coding assistants and agentic workflows daily to multiply their output, while applying strong engineering judgment to review, validate, and own everything they deliver.

The role involves understanding user problems, shaping simple and effective solutions, designing user-centric mobile experiences, building reusable UI components, integrating applications with backend APIs, and owning features from problem definition through development, testing, and release. The engineer will collaborate closely with product, design, and QA teams to deliver scalable, high-quality products

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end delivery of assigned modules — from understanding the problem and shaping the solution through design, development, testing, and release.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain mobile application features using Flutter and Dart.
  • Build and maintain reusable, responsive, and accessible UI components and application flows.
  • Develop and enhance web interfaces using React where required.
  • Integrate mobile and web applications with REST APIs and troubleshoot API or backend issues affecting user workflows; contribute to backend implementation where appropriate.
  • Ensure implementation adheres to approved architecture, coding standards, and engineering best practices.
  • Lead and participate in code reviews; use engineering judgment to validate correctness, security, maintainability, and quality of code, including AI-generated code.
  • Collaborate closely with QA, product, and design teams to understand user needs, challenge assumptions constructively, and deliver user-centric solutions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to improving engineering practices, including responsible AI-assisted development.

Required Skills & Experience

Core Requirements

  • 4–5 years of overall software development experience.
  • Strong experience in product development; SaaS or platform products preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to learn quickly.
  • Experience working in Agile / Scrum teams.
  • Hands-on exposure to Git, Docker, Jenkins, and Postman.
  • Daily, hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar, with disciplined validation of generated output.
  • Strong understanding of responsive UI design and mobile application development, with a user-centric approach to problem solving.

Frontend – Flutter (Primary Skill)

  • 3–4 years of hands-on experience with Dart and Flutter.
  • Familiarity with state management patterns(Bloc).
  • Experience using pub.dev and managing Flutter packages and dependencies.
  • Good understanding of local storage, such as SQLite or similar.
  • Experience writing and maintaining unit and integration tests for Flutter applications.
  • Ability to read, debug, and enhance existing Flutter codebases.

Frontend – React (Secondary Skill)

  • Hands-on experience with ReactJS to build and maintain web interfaces.
  • Good proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and SASS.
  • Experience with state management approaches such as Redux, Context API, React Query, or Custom Hooks.
  • Experience with NPM and dependency management.
  • Good understanding of component architecture and frontend design patterns.
  • Good to have: Webpack, Babel, CSS preprocessors, and Micro-Frontend architecture.

Full-Stack / Backend Exposure

  • Experience building or integrating with REST APIs.
  • Familiarity with backend technologies such as Node.js or Java / Spring Boot.
  • Understanding of API contracts, authentication and authorization, and database basics (SQL / NoSQL).
  • Ability to debug backend issues that affect frontend and mobile application workflows.

AI-Native Engineering

  • Use AI coding assistants as part of day-to-day development across implementation, testing, debugging, code review, and documentation.
  • Write effective prompts and break down work into well-scoped tasks for AI assistants or agents.
  • Review and validate AI-generated code for correctness, security, maintainability, and licensing considerations; remain accountable for shipped code.
  • Exposure to LLM APIs, RAG, or agentic frameworks is a strong plus.

Design Thinking & Collaboration

  • Demonstrate the ability to empathize with users and translate their needs into product and technical decisions.
  • Move from ambiguous problem statements to clear, simple solutions; prototype quickly, gather feedback, and iterate.
  • Communicate technical options and trade-offs clearly with product, design, QA, and engineering stakeholders.
