Product & Program Manager - Hardware
ABOUT THE COMPANY
Kryon Technology Pvt. Ltd. (iLabs Group) is building India’s next-generation integrated electronics manufacturing platform for PCBA and motor controllers. Our portfolio spans AC indoor/outdoor controllers, BLDC motor controllers, remotes, IoT gateways, routers, STBs and networking devices. We are setting up a high-speed SMT + assembly facility in Sri City supported by a strong design & sourcing ecosystem. As a fast-scaling 0→1 organization, we are looking for hands-on leaders who can build systems, teams and capabilities from scratch in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment.
We are looking for a Hardware Product and Program Manager to own our product portfolio, customer-facing product strategy and end-to-end program delivery at our Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) company. You will bridge customers, engineering, supply chain and manufacturing: turning customer requirements into manufacturable, cost-competitive products, and delivering each product and customer program on scope, cost and schedule from concept to volume production. Where applicable, you will also manage our own-design (ODM) offerings.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Strategy and Portfolio• Define product roadmap and positioning for ODM/own-brand products and value-added service offerings (design, testing, box build, aftermarket).
- Track market trends, technologies and competitors in target segments such as automotive, industrial, consumer, medical and IoT.
- Identify new product and service opportunities that make better use of our manufacturing capabilities.
Customer Requirements and Engagement• Gather and translate customer requirements into clear product specifications, BOM targets and acceptance criteria.
- Support RFQ/RFP responses with technical inputs, feasibility assessment and costing in coordination with sales and engineering.
- Be the technical and product point of contact for key customers through the development and ramp phases.
Program Management• Own end-to-end delivery of assigned customer and ODM programs, from kick-off to volume production, against agreed scope, cost, quality and timeline.
- Build and maintain integrated program plans covering design, NPI, procurement, tooling, test development, certification and production readiness, with clear milestones, owners and dependencies.
- Run program governance: weekly cross-functional reviews, stage-gate reviews (EVT, DVT, PVT, MP release) and customer program reviews, with documented actions and closure tracking.
- Plan and coordinate resources across design, firmware, test, quality, procurement and the factory, resolving conflicts across programs.
- Maintain a risk and issue register with owners, mitigation plans and escalation to management when needed.
- Manage program budget and cost tracking, including NRE, tooling, prototype and certification costs, and report variances against plan.
- Control scope and changes through a formal change-control process, assessing impact on cost, schedule and quality before approval.
- Give management and customers regular status reports with milestone status, slippages, risks and recovery plans.
- Manage multiple programs at once, prioritizing against capacity and business value.
- Conduct post-program reviews and capture lessons learned to improve the NPI and program process.
Product Development and NPI• Manage products through the lifecycle: concept, EVT, DVT, PVT and mass production.
- Work with design, firmware, test and quality teams to meet performance, cost and timeline targets.
- Ensure Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Test (DFT) and Design for Cost (DFC) reviews are done before release.
- Coordinate smooth handover from NPI to volume production.
Cost, Supply Chain and Manufacturing Alignment• Own product cost structure, including BOM cost, yield, cycle time and margin targets.
- Work with procurement on component selection, alternates, long-lead items and supplier qualification.
- Work with the factory on line capability, test strategy and capacity planning.
Compliance and Quality• Ensure products meet applicable standards and certifications (BIS, CE, FCC, RoHS, UL, IPC, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 13485, as relevant).
- Manage ECO/ECN process and product change impact on cost, quality and delivery.
Lifecycle Management• Monitor product performance, field returns and customer feedback.
- Manage component obsolescence, end-of-life planning and product revisions.
Required Qualifications• B.E./B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics or a related field (MBA is a plus).
- 5 to 8 years of experience in hardware product management, NPI or program management, preferably in an EMS, ODM or electronics manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience taking at least one hardware product from concept through mass production.
- Proven experience managing hardware programs end to end, including planning, stage-gate governance, risk management, budget tracking and customer reporting.
- Strong understanding of PCBA, SMT/THT processes, box build, testing (ICT, FCT) and the NPI process.
- Good knowledge of BOM management, costing and component sourcing.
- Experience working with customers on requirements, quotations and technical reviews.
- Familiarity with PLM/ERP systems and project tools (MS Project, Jira or similar).
Preferred Qualifications• Experience in one or more domains: automotive electronics, industrial controls, medical devices, consumer electronics, IoT or power electronics.
- Program management certification such as PMP, PgMP or PRINCE2.
- Knowledge of quality tools such as FMEA, APQP, PPAP and Six Sigma.
- Understanding of embedded systems and firmware development cycles.
- Exposure to global supply chains and import/export compliance.
Skills and Competencies• Customer-focused, with strong commercial and technical judgment.
- Ability to balance cost, quality and schedule trade-offs.
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
- Cross-functional leadership without direct authority.
- Structured, data-driven decision making.
- Strong planning, risk management and follow-through discipline.
- Ability to manage multiple customers, products and programs simultaneously.
What We Offer• Opportunity to shape product strategy and program delivery in a growing EMS business.
- Exposure to diverse products and industries.
