Backend / AI Agents Engineer | Productist.ai (Remote, Global)

We don’t build demos. We build AI systems that replace entire workflows, run in production, and make clients money every single day across the US, Europe and beyond.

We’re not looking for a good developer. Good is everywhere. Good is cheap.

We’re looking for the engineer other engineers quietly compare themselves to.

What you’ll do

  • Ship production LLM/agent pipelines end-to-end: parsing, reasoning, tool use, evals
  • Build backends and integrations that run for months without anyone touching them
  • Get a client problem on Monday. Ship it by Friday. Repeat.
  • Own the architecture. No committees. No hand-holding. No excuses.

Apply only if

  • You’ve shipped AI agents to real users. Not “worked on”. Shipped.
  • Reliability is an obsession: retries, evals, cost, latency, failure modes
  • You’re lethal in Python and/or TypeScript, Postgres, cloud, queues
  • You ship faster than most teams and your code still holds up a year later
  • You’ve been the best engineer in every room you’ve worked in

Don’t even think about applying if

  • You need a spec, a sprint plan and three meetings to start
  • Your “AI experience” is an API wrapper and a LinkedIn certificate
  • You want comfort, titles or a slow corporate pace
