  • Manage and prioritize the sprint backlog for our payment infrastructure workstreams (e.g., checkout APIs, gateway integrations, payouts, reconciliation).
  • Participate in agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives).
  • Payment Operations & Partner Integrations
  • Work closely with the Finance and Accounting teams to streamline ledger reconciliation, refund processing, and payout tracking.
  • Assist in evaluating, integrating, and maintaining connections with payment service providers (e.g., Stripe, Adyen, PayPal), alternative payment methods (APMs), and local banking rails (e.g., ACH, SEPA, UPI, Pix).
  • Data Analytics & Monitoring
  • Define, track, and monitor core payments KPIs such as reject, return rates
  • Investigate transaction anomalies, settlement discrepancies, recon breaks and gateway downtime in collaboration with site reliability and support teams.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis using SQL/BI dashboards to uncover platform bottlenecks and identify cost-saving routing opportunities.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in product management, technical program management, business analysis, or software engineering (ideally within fintech, e-commerce, or SaaS).
  • Foundational knowledge of payment lifecycle concepts: bank payments, ACH, RTGS, Real time payments, auth/capture, interchange fees, API, settlement, financial operations and treasury management.
  • Technical Aptitude: Strong comfort discussing technical concepts (APIs, webhooks, microservices, databases, system latency) with software engineers.
  • Analytical Skills: Hands-on experience querying data with SQL and visualizing trends using tools like Tableau, Looker, or Metabase.
  • Problem-Solving: Structured analytical mindset with the ability to diagnose complex edge cases (e.g., intermittent payment timeouts, currency conversion rounding).
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate technical complexities into plain business language for cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Economics, or equivalent practical experience.

Must Have

  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and standards such as PCI-DSS, PSD2 / Strong Customer Authentication (SCA), or local financial data privacy regulations.
  • Prior experience with third-party payment APIs (e.g., Stripe, Braintree, Adyen, Checkout.com).

What Success Looks Like In The First 90 Days

  • 30 Days: Develop a solid grasp of our payments architecture, data schemas, third-party vendor relationships, and current backlog.
  • 60 Days: Own and deliver your first feature or gateway enhancement end-to-end, writing specs and collaborating with engineers through QA and launch.
  • 90 Days: Independently identify payment optimization opportunities (e.g., smart retry logic, reducing authorization drops) and propose a data-backed feature spec.
