Senior Salesforce Developer
Straive is looking for a skilled Salesforce Administrator & Developer to join our team and support our U.S.-based client partner, MGT Impact Solutions, LLC!
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
MGT is seeking a hands-on Salesforce Administrator & Developer with strong development depth to own the day-to-day health of our Salesforce environment and build the automation, integrations, and custom functionality the business runs on. Salesforce serves as our enterprise CRM system of record and sits alongside Salesforce CPQ, Certinia (PSA, SCM, OIM), and NetSuite as part of MGT's consolidated tech stack.
This role sits on the Platforms Enterprise Applications team, which holds central governance over Salesforce across all MGT business units. Configuration changes, enhancements, bug fixes, and development work move through this team under a common SDLC and a single release process. Business units request and prioritize; this team designs, builds, and deploys.
The work is hands-on and split 60/40 between platform administration, configuration, release management, and governance (60%) and Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and integration work (40%). You will support multiple business units as their processes converge onto a single enterprise org, making comfort with competing requirements and legacy workflows essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Development (40%)
- Apex & Code Quality: Build and maintain Apex triggers using a single-trigger-per-object handler pattern, along with batch, queueable, and scheduled Apex. Write unit tests with meaningful assertions, keeping org coverage well above the deployment threshold with a target of 90%+ on new code.
- LWC & Flow Automation: Develop Lightning Web Components and Screen Flows for user-facing functionality, prioritizing the extension of standard objects before introducing custom ones.
- Query Performance: Write efficient SOQL and design for governor limits and large data volumes (LDV), incorporating indexing and selective query patterns.
- APIs & Integrations: Build inbound and outbound integrations using REST/SOAP callouts, Platform Events, Named Credentials, and External Services.
- Source-Driven SDLC: Follow a source-driven development pipeline using Git-based version control, feature branching, SFDX, and automated deployment pipelines (change-set-only deployment is not practiced here).
Platform Administration and Governance :
- Security & Access Ownership: Own user lifecycles, profiles, permission sets, permission set groups, role hierarchy, sharing rules, and field-level security (FLS) while actively driving the org toward a permission-set-driven model.
- Gatekeeping & Org Health: Act as the gatekeeper for org changes with strict enforcement—no direct production configuration, unmanaged side deployments, or un-governed business-unit automations.
- License & Tech Debt Management: Administer license allocations across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, CPQ, and Certinia, reporting on utilization against contracted entitlements. Drive technical debt reduction by deactivating unused fields/automations and retiring Workflow Rules and Process Builder in favor of Flow.
- Standards & Sandboxes: Mechanically enforce naming conventions, documentation standards, and metadata hygiene through validation rules and automated checks. Manage sandbox strategy, refresh cadences, and data seeding.
- AppExchange Governance: Vet third-party AppExchange packages for security review status, licensing models, and integration impact prior to installation.
Integration and Consolidation
- M&A CRM Consolidation: Support the ongoing consolidation of acquired-entity CRM and quoting processes onto the enterprise Salesforce org, including data mapping, deduplication, and cutover execution.
- Enterprise Stack Integrations: Maintain integrations between Salesforce, NetSuite, Certinia, and the enterprise integration layer (MuleSoft Anypoint Platform), partnering with the integration team on error handling, retry logic, and reconciliation.
- Salesforce CPQ Support: Support Salesforce CPQ configuration—product and price rules, bundles, quote templates, approval processes—and manage the seamless handoff from closed-won opportunities to project delivery and billing.
- Data Quality Controls: Maintain duplicate rules, matching rules, required-field enforcement, and execute periodic data quality audits.
Support, Backlog & Release Enablement
- Tier-2/3 Support: Serve as the tier-2/3 escalation point for Salesforce issues; triage, root-cause, and resolve issues within agreed SLAs.
- Central Backlog Management: Intake, size, and prioritize enhancement requests through a single backlog rather than ad hoc side channels.
- Reporting & Enablement: Build reports, dashboards, and custom report types for sales, delivery, and finance leadership. Produce release notes and deliver enablement to end users and business-unit admins after each release.
- Seasonal Release Management: Manage the three annual Salesforce platform releases—evaluating impact in preview sandboxes, testing critical paths, and communicating system changes.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
Required :
- Experience: 4+ years of Salesforce development and administration experience in a live production environment supporting 200+ users.
- Programmatic Apex: 2+ years writing production Apex, including triggers, asynchronous processing (Batch/Queueable), and robust test classes.
- UI & Automation: Demonstrated experience building with Lightning Web Components (LWC), Lightning App Builder, and complex Flows (including subflows, error handling, and Flow-to-Apex handoffs).
- Security & Sharing: Strong working knowledge of the Salesforce security and sharing model (OWD, Sharing Rules, Manual Sharing, Apex Sharing).
- Modern DevOps Tooling: Hands-on experience with Git-based version control and modern deployment tools (SFDX, Gearset, Copado, Flosum, or equivalent).
- ERP/PSA Integration: Proven experience integrating Salesforce with at least one major ERP, finance, or PSA system (e.g., NetSuite, Certinia, Workday, SAP).
- Certification: Salesforce Certified Administrator.
- Communication & Shift Flexibility: Professional written and spoken English with the ability to explain technical constraints to non-technical stakeholders, a reliable home office setup, and availability to work required U.S. overlap hours.
Preferred :
- Advanced Certifications: Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I (PD1) or Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder.
- Ecosystem Exposure: Prior experience supporting Salesforce CPQ, Certinia (FinancialForce), NetSuite, or MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
- Enterprise Environment: Experience working within multi-business-unit enterprise orgs undergoing post-merger integration or process convergence.
