About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Security Engineer to join our team, focusing on Linux platform security with an emphasis on AI-driven automated fuzzing and continuous security assurance. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in designing and deploying intelligent fuzzing infrastructure, developing fuzzing harnesses utilizing agentic AI frameworks, and conducting comprehensive security risk assessments for embedded and mobile platforms. This role involves performing secure code reviews, analyzing crash reports, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify vulnerabilities and develop effective mitigation strategies.
The candidate will leverage their expertise in security, Linux kernel internals, and AI/LLM-based frameworks to automate vulnerability discovery processes. They will also research and prototype innovative solutions such as LLM-assisted harness generation, contributing to the advancement of autonomous security testing methodologies. The role offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of security innovation, ensuring the robustness of Qualcomm’s products and platforms against emerging threats.
Qualifications
The successful candidate should possess a strong educational background with at least a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience in software or security engineering. A Master's degree or PhD in a related discipline is preferred, with additional experience in Linux kernel development, security research, or vulnerability analysis highly valued. Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and Python, along with hands-on experience with security tools and fuzzing frameworks, is essential. Familiarity with Linux kernel internals, device driver development, and firmware security will give candidates an edge in this role.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy AI-agent-driven fuzzing harnesses targeting Linux kernel subsystems, device drivers, and system interfaces using frameworks such as LangChain, Agno, or AutoGen.
- Build and maintain continuous fuzzing pipelines, integrating them into CI/CD workflows to enable automated vulnerability detection and reporting.
- Develop and optimize fuzzing campaigns using tools like Syzkaller, libFuzzer, AFL++, and custom mutation strategies to uncover security vulnerabilities.
- Conduct security risk assessments and threat modeling for Linux platform components, kernel modules, and firmware interfaces to identify potential attack vectors.
- Perform secure code reviews to detect vulnerabilities such as memory corruption, privilege escalation, race conditions, and other common security flaws.
- Analyze crash reports, triage security bugs, and coordinate with development teams to develop and implement patches and mitigations.
- Research and prototype LLM-assisted harness generation techniques to automate fuzzing target creation for new and evolving codebases.
- Collaborate with platform, kernel, and security teams to incorporate security requirements into the Security Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and ensure best practices are followed across projects.
