About the Role

While our user-facing app delivers the daily experience, our backend systems are the true engine behind clinical reversal. We are looking for a Backend-Focused Product Manager / Senior Product Manager to own the core platform, data pipelines, and system architecture that power Sugar.fit’s consumer ecosystem.

In this role, you will sit at the intersection of high-scale B2C operations, real-time IoT data ingestion, and internal care-delivery tools. You won’t just build APIs—you will architect the foundational platforms that connect continuous glucose monitors, diagnostic partners, health coaches, doctors, and end-users into one seamless, responsive ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

1. Core Platform & System Architecture

• Own the Backend Roadmap: Define and execute the product strategy for Sugar.fit’s core backend systems, microservices, and platform infrastructure to support rapid B2C user growth.
• IoT & Real-Time Data Pipelines: Manage the ingestion, processing, and normalization of high-frequency biometric data from Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs), fitness trackers, and diagnostic labs.
• Third-Party Integrations: Lead end-to-end integrations with external ecosystems, including diagnostic logistics providers, pharmacy fulfillment networks, payment gateways, and communication engines (WhatsApp, push notifications, SMS).

2. Care-Delivery & Operational Tooling

• Internal CRM & Clinical Engines: Build and optimize the backend workflows, scheduling algorithms, and rule engines that power our doctors and health coaches, ensuring timely, personalized interventions for users.
• Personalization & Recommendation Systems: Collaborate with Data Science and Engineering teams to build the backend infrastructure for automated health insights, metabolic scoring, and trigger-based user nudges.

3. Scale, Reliability & Security

• Performance at B2C Scale: Partner closely with Engineering Architects to define SLAs around system uptime, API latency, data consistency, and fault tolerance.
• Health Data Governance: Ensure all backend data storage, access controls, and data-sharing architectures strictly adhere to healthcare compliance, user privacy, and security standards.

What We Are Looking For

• 4–7 years of Product Management experience in high-scale B2C consumer internet companies (e.g., Health-Tech, FinTech, E-Commerce, Hyperlocal Delivery, or EdTech). Candidates with 6+ years and demonstrated ownership of large-scale platform charters will be considered for the Senior PM role.
• Strong Technical & Backend Depth: Proven track record of owning non-UI/platform products—such as API ecosystems, payment/checkout engines, order management systems, logistics/supply chain backends, notification engines, or data platforms.
• Architectural Fluency: Comfortable discussing system design, database schemas, asynchronous workflows, webhook reliability, and API contracts with senior engineers without needing to write production code yourself.
• Systems Thinking: Ability to break down complex, multi-actor operational workflows (User $\leftrightarrow$ Device $\leftrightarrow$ Lab $\leftrightarrow$ Coach $\leftrightarrow$ Doctor) into scalable, modular backend services.
• Data-First Mindset: Strong proficiency in SQL and product analytics tools to independently query datasets, diagnose system bottlenecks, and measure the business impact of platform improvements.
• B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science or a related technical field (or equivalent practical engineering experience prior to transitioning into Product Management) is strongly preferred.

Success Metrics (What You Will Own)

• System Reliability & Latency: API response times, CGM data sync success rates, and reduction in integration failure rates.
• Operational Efficiency: Coach/Doctor productivity metrics, automated workflow resolution rates, and reduction in manual ops interventions.
• Fulfillment & Care SLAs: Turnaround time (TAT) for diagnostic bookings, device shipments, and real-time clinical escalations.
