Product Designer - UI UX
We're looking for a Product Designer — not a UI/UX designer.
If your work starts and ends with wireframes, mockups, and handing off Figma files, this role is not for you. We want someone who owns problems end-to-end — from understanding the "why" behind a feature to shipping it, measuring it, and iterating on it.
You will be building products from 0 to 1. That means ambiguity, blank canvases, no existing design systems to hide behind, and real ownership over what gets built and why.
That said — we deeply care about craft. Great product thinking with mediocre UI is a dealbreaker. We want someone with exceptional taste: sharp visual sensibility, strong typography, clean layouts, and an obsessive eye for detail.
What You'll Do
- Own the entire product design lifecycle — problem discovery, user research, defining requirements, designing flows, prototyping, shipping, and iterating based on data and feedback.
- Take products from 0 → 1 — turn vague ideas and business goals into concrete, shippable products. You'll thrive in ambiguity where nothing is predefined.
- Set the visual bar — define what "great" looks like for our product. You'll build interfaces that are not just functional, but beautiful, modern, and delightful.
- Think like a product owner — challenge requirements, prioritize ruthlessly, and make trade-offs between user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
- Talk to users directly — conduct interviews, usability tests, and synthesize insights into product decisions.
- Collaborate deeply with engineers and founders — you're part of the product trio, not a downstream service team.
- Define and track success metrics for everything you ship. You care about outcomes, not just outputs.
- Build and evolve our design foundations — design systems, visual language, processes, and culture from the ground up.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 2 - 3 years of experience designing and shipping digital products (web/mobile), ideally at a startup or in a fast-moving environment.
- Proven 0 → 1 experience — you've taken a product or major feature from idea to launch, and can walk us through the messy middle, not just the polished final screens.
- Exceptional taste in UI — a portfolio that demonstrates strong visual craft: typography, spacing, color, hierarchy, motion, and attention to micro-details. You know the difference between "fine" and "great," and you never settle for fine.
- Strong product thinking — you ask "should we build this?" before "how should this look?"
- End-to-end ownership mindset — you don't wait for perfect briefs. You create clarity.
- Solid craft and tooling — expert-level Figma (or similar), strong interaction design, and high-fidelity prototyping skills.
- Comfort with data — you use metrics, funnels, and user feedback to validate and improve your work.
- Excellent communication — you can defend your decisions with reasoning, not just taste.
This Role Is NOT For You If...
- You prefer working from detailed specs handed to you by a PM.
- You think your job ends at the Figma handoff.
- You're a great strategist but your visual craft is average — or vice versa. We need both.
- Your portfolio is all UX case studies with no polished, shipped UI to show.
- You need an established design team, mature processes, or a big brand name to do your best work.
