Product Manager- Booking and Payments

Zoca
Bengaluru, Karnataka, India

About ZOCA

ZOCA is an AI powered marketing platform built for salons, spas and wellness studios across the United States. We help independent beauty and wellness businesses get discovered, fill their calendars and keep clients coming back, without needing a marketing team of their own.

We're backed by Accel, we build from Bengaluru, and we're growing the team across every function. Our customers are small business owners who pour their heart into their craft. We build so they can spend more time with their clients and less time chasing them.

Why this role matters

For a salon owner, a booking is not a feature. It is their rent, their stylist's paycheck and their Saturday. When a booking goes wrong, a real person shows up to an empty chair or a client walks away frustrated. When a payment fails, a small business feels it the same day.

Marketing brings clients to the door. Bookings and Payments is where that promise turns into revenue. You'll be the person who makes sure it never breaks, and who keeps finding ways to make it better: fewer no shows, faster checkouts, smarter deposits and payouts that salon owners can trust without thinking twice.

What You'll Own

Bookings

  • The end to end booking journey for salon clients: discovering services, picking a stylist and time slot, confirming, rescheduling and cancelling
  • Calendar and availability logic for salons with multiple staff, services of different lengths, buffers and resource constraints
  • Reminders, confirmations and waitlists that reduce no shows and fill last minute gaps
  • Deposits, cancellation policies and no show fees that protect the salon while staying fair to the client
  • Integrations and sync with the booking and point of sale tools our salons already use

Payments

  • Online payments at the time of booking, including cards and digital wallets common in the US
  • Checkout, tips, gift cards, packages and memberships
  • Payouts, refunds, chargebacks and dispute handling, working closely with our payment partners
  • Reporting that helps a salon owner understand what they earned, what is pending and what was refunded
  • Payment compliance and risk in partnership with engineering, finance and our payment processors

Across both

  • The roadmap, the metrics and the story of why we're building what we're building
  • Making sure our AI and marketing products feed real bookings and real revenue, and that the data flows back to make them smarter

What a Week Might Look Like

  • Getting on calls with salon owners and front desk staff in the US to understand how they actually run their day
  • Digging into booking funnels, failed payments and no show data to find where we're losing money for our customers
  • Writing clear, short specs and sitting with engineers and designers until the problem is truly understood
  • Prioritising ruthlessly between new capability, reliability work and the bug that's annoying three of our biggest salons
  • Listening to Customer Success and Sales, and turning what they hear into product decisions
  • Shipping, measuring, learning and shipping again

What We're Looking For

  • 3 to 5 years in product management, with real ownership of a bookings, scheduling, checkout or payments product
  • A solid working understanding of how payments move: authorisation, capture, refunds, chargebacks, payouts and the role of processors and gateways
  • Comfort with data. You can write a SQL query or build a dashboard yourself, and you know which number actually matters
  • Experience building for SMBs or merchants, ideally in the US market
  • Strong product instincts paired with the patience to get the edge cases right, because in payments the edge cases are the product
  • Clear, simple writing and the ability to bring engineers, designers and business teams along with you
  • High ownership. You're happy in a startup where the roadmap is yours to shape and nobody hands you a playbook
  • Curiosity about AI and how it can make scheduling and payments smarter for small businesses

Bonus points

  • Hands on experience with Stripe, Square, Adyen or similar payment platforms
  • You've worked on a marketplace, booking or vertical SaaS product for salons, fitness, healthcare or hospitality
  • You've worked with US customers and understand how small business owners there think and buy
  • A technical background, whether that's an engineering degree or years of working shoulder to shoulder with developers

What Success Looks Like

In your first 30 days you've spoken to at least 15 salons, mapped the full booking and payment journey, and know exactly where it leaks.

By 90 days you own a clear roadmap the team believes in, and you've shipped your first meaningful improvement to booking conversion or payment reliability.

By 6 months salons using ZOCA see fewer no shows, fewer failed payments and faster payouts, and you can show the numbers that prove it.

Why you'll love it here

  • You'll own a product area that directly moves revenue for thousands of small businesses, and for ZOCA
  • You'll work closely with the founders and a small, sharp team where your voice shapes what gets built
  • You'll see your work in the real world, in full calendars and owners who finally get to take a Sunday off
  • You'll grow as fast as the company does
