Senior Braze Data Engineer
eClerx
Bengaluru, Karnataka, India
Job Overview:
eClerx is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to support a Fintech client's migration from Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) to Braze, as part of a strategic MarTech transformation. Working to the Solution Architect's design, this hands-on role builds and operationalizes the Braze data layer and its integrations across multiple markets — executing the architecture rather than redefining it.
The ideal candidate combines strong data engineering capabilities with Braze/MarTech familiarity, translating architectural designs into scalable, high-quality data pipelines while ensuring data integrity, governance, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Map user profile flow to Braze; set up identity resolution and profile synchronization across mobile, web, and server-side sources
- Align event schema to the client's data model; build data pipelines with event mapping via REST APIs / CDI
- Perform data cleansing, deduplication, transformation, automated validation, and reconciliation against source
- Apply data governance and security controls (PII, access controls); run pre-release unit/integration tests
- Build a reusable data-layer template, then adapt it per market for local attributes, data residency, and compliance
- Support post-go-live stabilization — monitor data drift, resolve production data issues, reconcile across live markets, and hand over runbooks
- Collaborate hands-on with the client's internal engineering, mobile, and web SDK teams
Core Requirements
- 6+ years in Data Engineering / MarTech implementation
- Strong data engineering background — ETL pipelines, data integration, and event streaming
- Proficiency in SQL and Python (or equivalent) for pipeline development and data transformation
- Hands-on with REST APIs and system integrations
- Experience with GCP data services (BigQuery, Pub/Sub, or equivalent)
- Solid grounding in data validation, governance frameworks, and PII/security handling
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance-optimization skills
- Proven ability to work directly with cross-functional engineering teams in a hands-on delivery rolePreferred Skills
- Hands-on Braze experience — SDKs, APIs, event tracking, and Currents (or fast ramp-up on the platform); Braze Data Engineer certification a plus
- Experience with CDPs or marketing data platforms
- Prior MarTech or marketing-automation migration experience (SFMC, Braze, or similar)
- Familiarity with identity resolution / ID-stitching across multiple data sources
- Exposure to multi-market or multi-region rollouts, including data-residency and consent/compliance handling
