Senior Frontend Developer
Senior Front-End Developer
AngularJS
- SCSS| 4+ years of experience
Role overview
We are hiring a Senior Front-End Developer with 4+ years of experience to build and maintain our AngularJS business platform, its shared design system and its page, email and digital-signage component library.
You will own complex back-office interfaces end to end, from Figma and product requirements to accessible, responsive, well-tested UI. You will also review code and mentor junior developers, interns and apprentices.
Key responsibilities
Front-end team lead Application development
- Build, refactor and maintain a large AngularJS (1.x) single-page admin application: directives, controllers, services, filters and templates.
- Design and build data-heavy back-office interfaces: order management, purchasing, invoicing, products, customers, editors, configurators, nested sidebars and data tables.
- Build editors with line items, live price and tax calculation, multiple currencies, discounts and status tracking.
- Develop customer-facing features such as the shop, product pages, cart, checkout and point-of-sale UI.
- Extend the modular component library for web pages, email newsletters and digital signage, including editor UI, PHP render templates, SCSS and data migration scripts.
- Write PHP utilities and server-side rendering logic for components (validation, translation, search indexing, media handling).
- Integrate third-party libraries such as charting, gallery, 3D viewers and rich text editors.
- Add structured data (schema.org / JSON-LD) to improve search visibility.
Design system and styling
- Maintain and extend the shared UI framework: reusable input and button directives, layouts, toasts, loading and progress states.
- Write maintainable SCSS with global mixins, CSS custom properties and theming, including light and dark mode.
- Build responsive layouts and test them across Chrome, Safari, Firefox, iOS and Android, including touch and virtual-keyboard behaviour. Job Description – Senior Front-End Developer Page 1
Quality, accessibility and security
- Build interfaces to WCAG standards: ARIA, keyboard navigation, contrast, semantic HTML, screen reader and Lighthouse/axe testing.
- Implement front-end validation, error handling and clear user feedback.
- Prevent front-end security issues: XSS, input sanitisation and Content Security Policy compatibility.
- Manage internationalisation: structure translation files, harmonise terminology and remove hard-coded text.
Code review and mentoring
- Review pull requests and give clear, documented feedback against team conventions.
- Help define coding standards, review checklists and component development best practices.
- Mentor and onboard junior developers, interns and apprentices.
- Contribute to AI-assisted development workflows such as automated code review and translation audits.
Collaboration and process
- Work with backend developers on APIs, data structures and integration issues.
- Turn product, UX and Figma designs into technical specifications, user stories and tasks.
- Take part in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and manage work in Jira.
- Write developer and user documentation in Markdown and Confluence, including video tutorials.
- Support QA with reproduction steps and test instructions, and triage bugs and escalated customer issues.
- Manage Git workflows: branching, merging, conflict resolution and release preparation.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional front-end development on complex, data-heavy web applications.
- Strong JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5 and CSS/SCSS, including Flexbox, Grid, mixins and custom properties.
- Hands-on experience with AngularJS (1.x), or strong experience with another component framework and willingness to work in AngularJS.
- Working knowledge of PHP for templates, utilities and server-side rendering.
- Experience building reusable UI components or contributing to a design system.
- Practical knowledge of web accessibility (WCAG, ARIA, keyboard navigation, screen reader testing).
- Experience with REST APIs, form validation and front-end security basics (XSS, sanitisation, CSP).
- Experience building responsive interfaces and testing across browsers and mobile devices.
- Confident with Git workflows, code reviews and Jira in an Agile/Scrum team.
- Clear written communication: documentation, bug reports and technical specifications.
