We are looking for professionals with deep hands-on expertise in Conceptual, Logical and Physical Data Modeling, Data Vault, Dimensional Modeling, Third Normal Form (3NF), Enterprise Data Architecture and SQL.

You will work on complex data architecture initiatives involving enterprise data warehouses, operational data stores, data marts, cloud platforms and modern analytics ecosystems.

The Opportunity

As a Lead Data Modeler, you will design and govern enterprise data models supporting business-critical systems, analytics platforms, data warehouses and modern cloud data ecosystems.

You will work with data architects, engineers, business analysts and technology stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable, reusable and high-performing data structures.

This position combines hands-on data modeling, architecture design, data integration, governance and technical leadership.

What You'll Do

Enterprise Data Modeling & Architecture

  • Design conceptual, logical and physical data models for enterprise applications and analytical platforms.
  • Develop relational, dimensional, Data Vault and 3NF data models.
  • Model data structures for RDBMS, Operational Data Stores (ODS), Data Warehouses, Data Marts and Data Lakes.
  • Translate business processes and information requirements into scalable enterprise data architectures.
  • Define data entities, attributes, relationships and metadata.
  • Support canonical data modeling and enterprise business object models.
  • Establish reusable modeling standards and architecture best practices.

Data Warehousing & Integration

  • Design fact tables, dimensions, conformed dimensions and analytical data structures.
  • Develop source-to-target mappings and data transformation specifications.
  • Support integration across legacy, operational and modern cloud data platforms.
  • Conduct data profiling, data quality assessments and gap analysis.
  • Reverse-engineer legacy databases to understand and improve existing data structures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data consistency, reduce redundancy and enhance data reliability.

Database Optimization & Governance

  • Review and optimize logical and physical models for scalability and performance.
  • Establish naming conventions, data modeling standards and metadata guidelines.
  • Analyse database structures, SQL queries and data integration challenges.
  • Ensure architecture compliance with enterprise data standards.
  • Support data architecture strategy and technology selection.
  • Recommend improvements to data structures and integration approaches.

Technical Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead technical discussions involving data architecture and modeling decisions.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, developers and data engineers.
  • Participate in requirements gathering, solution design and architecture review sessions.
  • Guide development teams on modeling principles, standards and implementation considerations.
  • Mentor colleagues and promote technical knowledge sharing.
  • Translate complex business challenges into practical and sustainable data solutions.

What We're Looking For

Essential Technical Expertise

  • 7–10 years of relevant industry experience, preferably including at least eight years of data architecture, data modeling or closely related responsibilities.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Conceptual, Logical and Physical Data Modeling.
  • Proven knowledge of Data Vault, Dimensional Modeling and 3NF.
  • Hands-on experience using Erwin, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner or equivalent enterprise data modeling tools.
  • Strong SQL skills and understanding of relational database architecture.
  • Experience with Data Warehouses, Data Marts, Operational Data Stores and OLTP systems.
  • Knowledge of source-to-target mapping, data integration and transformation processes.
  • Experience with data profiling, quality assessment and database performance optimization.
  • Understanding of metadata management, modeling standards and data governance.
  • Familiarity with cloud and on-premises architectures.
  • Experience with modern enterprise data platforms such as Azure Synapse, Databricks or similar technologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder-management capabilities.

Additional Advantages

  • Exposure to AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud or Snowflake.
  • Experience with canonical data modeling and business object modeling.
  • Knowledge of PL/SQL, complex stored procedures and database optimization.
  • Experience in legacy modernization and enterprise data migration.
  • Background in enterprise architecture consulting.
  • Experience supporting AI, Machine Learning or advanced analytics platforms.
  • Relevant cloud, database or data architecture certifications.
