About The Job

We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to develop and maintain backend services and APIs for an AI-powered insurance product platform. The role involves building calculation engines, implementing business logic for insurance products, developing REST APIs, and integrating with client systems. The candidate will work closely with the technical team to deliver scalable, reliable and high-quality backend solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain backend services and REST APIs.
  • Implement business logic for insurance products, including premium, benefits, charges and calculations.
  • Develop product configuration and rules engine functionality.
  • Write unit, integration and automated regression tests.
  • Integrate applications with client systems using REST APIs, messaging and file-based interfaces.
  • Optimize application performance and troubleshoot production issues.
  • Participate in code reviews, deployments and debugging.
  • Use AI coding tools for development, testing and code optimization.

Mandatory Skills

  • 5+ years of backend development experience.
  • Strong experience in Java (Spring Boot), Node.js and TypeScript, or a similar backend technology stack.
  • Strong knowledge of REST API development and integration.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL databases.
  • Experience with Git, Docker and CI/CD.
  • Good understanding of unit testing and integration testing.
  • Strong understanding of mathematical and financial calculations, including rounding, precision and edge cases.
  • Experience in developing and supporting production-level backend services.
