Responsibilities

  • Build responsive, high-performance, user-friendly web interfaces using React JS and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Develop reusable components and front-end libraries, and manage application state using hooks, Context, Redux, or similar tools.
  • Integrate frontend components with RESTful APIs and third-party services, including AI/LLM-powered features.
  • Translate designs and wireframes into pixel-accurate, accessible, and cross-browser compatible interfaces.
  • Optimise applications for speed and scalability, and debug and resolve issues across the stack.
  • Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code, along with unit and integration tests, and follow version control best practices (Git).
  • Take ownership of features from design discussion to deployment, and mentor junior team members where required.
  • Participate in code reviews and team discussions, and contribute to improving engineering standards.
  • Collaborate with your Reporting Catalyst, designers, backend engineers, and other teams to deliver features on agreed timelines.

Requirements

  • 2 to 4 years of relevant, hands-on experience building production applications with React JS (components, hooks, state management).
  • Solid fundamentals in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Experience with TypeScript and modern styling approaches such as Tailwind CSS or a component library.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and how the frontend and backend communicate.
  • Working knowledge of a backend language and framework (Node.js with Express, or Python with Flask/FastAPI) for effective collaboration with API teams.
  • Familiarity with Git/GitHub and collaborative development workflows.
  • Good problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn quickly, take feedback, and work in rotational shifts.
  • Ability to work independently and stay productive in a remote setup.
  • Experience with frontend testing tools (Jest, React Testing Library) and build tools (Vite, Webpack) preferred.
  • Basic exposure to Docker, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), or CI/CD would be a plus.
  • Awareness of web security basics (authentication, input validation) and of calling LLM APIs preferred.
  • A GitHub portfolio or live projects showcasing your React work are strongly preferred.
