As AI Engineering Lead, you shape how we build. You lead a growing team in India, stay hands-on with the code, and prove what is possible when experienced engineering meets modern AI tooling. Your work has real impact — on our products, our people, and the energy transition itself.

What You'll Do

  • Own end-to-end delivery of AI engineering projects, from scoping through production and ongoing support.
  • Write, review, and ship code yourself, leading by example rather than delegating from a distance.
  • Make pragmatic architecture decisions and be accountable for their outcomes across the full stack.
  • Use AI cowork tools as the primary development method and set the standard for how the team builds.
  • Instil a culture of fast iteration, short feedback loops, and continuous improvement in production.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a small team of AI Engineers and interns based in India.
  • Partner with Product, Architecture, DevOps, and QA to deliver secure, well-tested, enterprise-grade software.

What You Bring

  • 5 to 10 years of experience building and shipping full-stack applications in production environments.
  • Proven track record integrating AI and ML models into real products, including LLMs, RAG pipelines, and agent-based systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to design AI architectures that combine application code, data, and models at scale.
  • Hands-on experience with AI pair-programming and agentic coding workflows, with a genuine belief in AI-first delivery.
  • Fluency across multiple languages and frameworks; our stack spans Python, .NET, Java, and React on Azure, AWS, and GCP.
  • Experience delivering secure, compliant software in enterprise environments, with strong instincts around quality and resilience.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across distributed, international teams.

Location

Pune India. This role operates on a hybrid basis. You will work closely with UK and Europe stakeholders, so reasonable overlap with their working hours is expected.
