About the Role
We are looking for a Backend Developer with experience in Node.js, JavaScript, MongoDB and blockchain technologies to join the SynQ Social engineering team. You will be responsible for developing scalable backend services, APIs, blockchain integrations and payment workflows that support social networking, digital marketplaces and decentralised applications.

Key Responsibilities
● Design, develop and maintain backend applications using Node.js, Express.js and JavaScript.
● Build secure RESTful APIs and optimise application performance.
● Design and manage MongoDB databases, schemas and queries.
● Integrate blockchain networks, smart contracts, wallets and Web3 functionalities.
● Develop backend services for social networking, marketplace operations, user management and transaction processing.
● Implement payment gateway integrations, including payment verification, webhooks, refunds and reconciliation.
● Build secure authentication, authorisation and data management workflows.
● Collaborate with frontend and QA teams to deliver reliable, production-ready applications.
● Troubleshoot, maintain and optimise existing backend services.
Required Skills & Qualifications
● 2–4 years of professional backend development experience.
● Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), Node.js and Express.js.
● Hands-on experience with MongoDB and database design.
● Good understanding of the MERN stack and RESTful API development.
● Practical experience with blockchain technologies, EVM-compatible networks, smart contracts, ethers.js or Web3.js.
● Experience integrating payment gateways such as Razorpay, Stripe or equivalent platforms.
● Understanding of authentication, API security, asynchronous programming and transaction management.
● Familiarity with Git, Docker, cloud deployment and CI/CD practices.
● Strong problem-solving, debugging and software engineering skills.
Preferred Qualifications
● Experience with Web3 applications, decentralised marketplaces or blockchain-based products.
● Knowledge of Solidity, microservices, Redis and event-driven architecture.
● Experience with real-time applications and WebSocket integrations.
● Ability to independently manage backend modules and contribute to technical decisions.
