About us
AIQ Space Ventures Private Limited is building a commercial product for professional
customers. We are getting ready for our first customer delivery. We work with high ownership,
fast feedback and high standards.
Your role
Our product is data-intensive desktop software backed by cloud services, used by
professional customers. You will help us build and ship new features quickly. You will also
harden the production desktop application and its supporting cloud services.
What you'll do
Design, build and maintain backend services and REST APIs in Python.
Build and improve features in a Windows desktop application, from the UI to the
background services it runs.
Work on long-running, resource-heavy background jobs: reliability, performance, error
handling and recovery.
Build and run supporting services in the cloud.
Write tests, review code and take part in design discussions.
Take features through the full lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, testing,
release and support.
Investigate and fix production issues using logs and evidence, not guesswork.
What you need
3–5 years of professional software development.
Strong problem solving. You can break down vague problems, find root causes and
explain trade-offs clearly.
Excellent Python: clean code, packaging, concurrency and multiprocessing, debugging.
Strong API skills: designing and building REST APIs (Django, FastAPI or Flask), including
authentication, error handling and versioning.
Desktop application experience: building or maintaining desktop apps (for example
Electron or Qt), including packaging, installers and how the app manages local services
and processes.
Hands-on cloud experience with at least one of Azure, GCP or AWS: VMs, storage,
networking basics and deployment.
A good grasp of the software lifecycle: Git workflows, code review, CI/CD, testing and
release management.
Comfort with relational databases. PostgreSQL is preferred.
Code containerization with Docker
Nice to have
Windows internals relevant to desktop apps: processes, file locking, permissions,
services.
Background task queues, for example Celery with Redis.
JavaScript or TypeScript and a modern frontend framework such as React.
Performance work on CPU- and memory-heavy workloads.
Secure application design: secrets handling, signed tokens, least privilege.
Experience at an early-stage company or on a small team.
