Job Description:
Nubra | Product Manager, Core Trading
Location: Bangalore
Experience: 3 to 6 years
Type: Full-time
Team: Product
About Nubra: Nubra is a trading platform for people who take trading seriously, whether they scalp index options on expiry day or run multi-leg strategies over weeks. We've built Smart Flexi Orders, multi-strike charts, tick-level option chain data, a multi-leg strategy builder, smart watchlists, automation APIs, and flexible collateral management, and we're still early in what we want the product to become.
Most of our users have tried other platforms before us. They know exactly what breaks at 9:15 AM, which order types are missing, and how many taps it takes to adjust a position when the market moves against them. Our job is to make those moments better. You can see the product at nubra.io.
The role: You'll own the roadmap for the parts of Nubra that traders use every single session: order placement and execution, the option chain, the strategy builder, charts, and our automation APIs. You'll work day to day with engineering and design, and closely with compliance and risk, since almost everything we ship has a regulatory angle. This is a hands-on role. You'll write the specs, sit in on technical discussions about latency and data feeds, look at the numbers yourself, and talk to traders every week.
Coming from e-commerce or D2C? We'd like to hear from you. Some of the best product thinking for a trading app comes from people who have built checkout flows, high-volume order systems, or products where a few seconds of delay costs real money. What we need from you is a genuine interest in markets and the willingness to get fluent in options and derivatives quickly. If you already trade on the side, even better.
What you'll be responsible for:
- Roadmap and product direction:
- Own the roadmap for order types, option chain, strategy builder, charts and automation APIs.
- Decide what we build next and, just as often, what we don't. Be able to explain the reasoning to the team.
- Keep a close eye on other trading and investing platforms in India and abroad, and know where we're ahead and where we're behind.
- Building and shipping:
- Turn trader workflows into clear specs that engineers can build from without a dozen follow-up calls.
- Work with engineering on the trade-offs that matter in trading: speed, reliability, and accuracy of data under heavy market load.
- Work with design so that complex features (multi-leg orders, margin, Greeks) feel simple to use.
- Plan releases carefully. A bug in an order flow is not the same as a bug in a settings page.
- Users and data:
- Speak with active traders regularly through calls, support tickets, community channels and usage data.
- Define what success looks like for each feature and track adoption, retention, order success rates and trading behaviour.
- Run experiments where it makes sense and be honest about results when something doesn't work.
- Compliance and risk:
- Work with compliance and risk teams so that new features meet SEBI and exchange requirements from day one, not as an afterthought.
- Understand how margin, collateral and risk checks affect the user experience, and design around them sensibly.
Your first six months, roughly:
- Month 1: Use the product the way our users do, with real trades if you're comfortable. Read support tickets, sit with engineering, and get to know the order lifecycle end to end.
- Months 2 to 3: Take ownership of one feature area and ship your first meaningful improvement. Set up the metrics you'll use to judge it.
- Months 4 to 6: Own the roadmap for your area, with a clear view of priorities for the next two quarters and the user evidence to back them.
What we're looking for:
- 3 to 6 years of product management experience in trading, broking, fintech, capital markets, e-commerce or D2C.
- You've shipped consumer products end to end, ideally ones with high transaction volumes, real-time flows or demanding power users.
- You're comfortable with data. You can write or read a query, build a funnel, and tell the difference between a real trend and noise.
- You understand trading concepts such as order types, options, derivatives and market data, or you're clearly on your way there.
- You write clearly and can get engineering, design, compliance and business teams to agree on a plan.
- You're interested in markets. Not as a line on your CV, but because you actually find them interesting.
Good to have:
- Personal trading experience, especially in F&O.
- Prior work at a broker, exchange or prop trading firm.
- Experience with options or derivatives platforms specifically.
- Working knowledge of SEBI regulations and NSE/BSE rules.
- A background in analytics or quant, or experience with real-time data systems.
- Experience building payments, checkout or other high-trust flows where conversion and reliability both matter.
How we work: We start with the user. Here that means thinking like a trader. If you can't explain why a trader would care, it probably doesn't belong on the roadmap. We move quickly. Markets change fast and so do our users' expectations. We'd rather ship, learn and fix than wait for a perfect version.
We use data, and we make calls. Numbers inform our decisions, but we don't hide behind them. Sometimes you have to back your judgement. We own outcomes. Shipping a feature isn't the finish line. Whether it helped traders is what counts.
What you get:
- Ownership of the core of a trading product used by active traders every market day.
- Problems that are genuinely hard: real-time data, complex instruments, regulation and user experience all in one place.
- A small, capable team where your work is visible and your opinion counts.
- A steep learning curve in capital markets, if you're new to the space.
- Competitive pay with performance-based incentives.
