Role Description The ServiceNow Developer will work on the design, configuration, development, and implementation of ServiceNow modules and custom applications to support client business processes. This contract, remote role involves building and maintaining ServiceNow workflows, business rules, integrations, and UI components, as well as troubleshooting incidents and resolving defects in existing configurations. The developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and ensure adherence to best practices and platform standards. Daily responsibilities include writing clean, maintainable code, conducting unit and integration testing, preparing technical documentation, and supporting upgrades and enhancements to the ServiceNow platform. The role also includes optimizing performance, ensuring data integrity, and contributing to continuous improvement of IT service management and related processes.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Computer Science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, and software engineering fundamentals.
  • Experience in Back-End Web Development, particularly with REST APIs, integrations, and server-side scripting relevant to ServiceNow.
  • Hands-on Software Development skills with a focus on building, configuring, and customizing enterprise applications.
  • Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), ideally using languages and scripting commonly used on the ServiceNow platform (e.g., JavaScript).
  • Practical experience developing and configuring ServiceNow modules (ITSM, ITOM, HR, CSM, or similar) and working with ServiceNow Studio and update sets.
  • Knowledge of ITIL/ITSM processes and ability to translate process requirements into technical implementations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a remote, client-focused environment.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with business analysts, administrators, and stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • ServiceNow certifications (e.g., Certified System Administrator, Certified Application Developer) are a plus.
