About the Role

Talemexa is seeking an experienced Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications for our financial services and HR clients. The ideal candidate will have strong Java programming skills, hands-on experience with Spring Boot and microservices architecture, and a solid understanding of REST APIs, SQL databases, and software design principles.

In this role, you will contribute to backend service development, improve application performance, write comprehensive tests, and support deployments through CI/CD pipelines. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in code reviews, and help junior developers follow established engineering practices.

This position is suited to a developer who enjoys solving complex technical problems and building scalable, secure, and dependable enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop Java Applications: Design, build, and maintain enterprise applications using Java and modern development frameworks.
• Build Spring Boot Microservices: Develop modular, scalable, and maintainable microservices using Spring Boot to support business-critical applications.
• Design and Integrate REST APIs: Create and maintain RESTful APIs that enable seamless communication between internal services and external systems.
• Manage Database Operations: Write efficient SQL queries, work with relational databases, and support data integrity and performance optimization.
• Write Automated Tests: Develop unit and integration tests to validate functionality, reduce defects, and maintain application reliability.
• Optimize Application Performance: Identify performance bottlenecks and improve response times, resource utilization, and memory management.
• Support CI/CD Deployments: Work with continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines to automate testing, build processes, and application releases.
• Use Container Technologies: Work with Docker and, where applicable, Kubernetes to support application packaging, deployment, and scalable environments.
• Conduct Code Reviews: Review code for quality, security, maintainability, and adherence to development standards.
• Apply Design Patterns: Use appropriate software design patterns and architectural principles to create reusable and maintainable solutions.
• Troubleshoot Technical Issues: Investigate application errors, resolve defects, and support production systems when required.
• Mentor Junior Developers: Share technical knowledge, provide constructive feedback, and help junior team members improve their development skills.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Coordinate with product managers, QA engineers, DevOps professionals, and other stakeholders to deliver projects on time.Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• 4 or more years of professional Java development experience.
• Strong practical knowledge of Java and object-oriented programming principles.
• Hands-on experience developing applications with Spring Boot.
• Understanding of microservices architecture and REST API development.
• Strong SQL skills and familiarity with relational databases.
• Experience with unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and performance tuning.
• Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, or similar container technologies.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and collaborative development workflows.
• Understanding of common software design patterns and application architecture.
