About the Role

Talemexa is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented WordPress Developer to build, customize, optimize, and maintain websites for Talemexa and its clients. In this role, you will develop custom WordPress themes and plugins, implement responsive designs, improve website speed, and apply SEO best practices to enhance online visibility.

The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years of WordPress development experience, strong knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and practical experience with page-building tools such as Elementor or Gutenberg. You should also understand website security, regular maintenance, backups, and troubleshooting.

You will collaborate with designers, digital marketers, content creators, and other team members to deliver high-quality websites that align with brand guidelines, business requirements, and performance goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • WordPress Development: Build, customize, and maintain WordPress websites using PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WordPress development standards.
  • Theme Development: Develop and customize WordPress themes to create responsive, visually appealing, and user-friendly website layouts.
  • Plugin Development: Build custom plugins and extend existing functionality to meet specific business requirements while maintaining compatibility and code quality.
  • Page Builder Management: Create and update website pages using Elementor, Gutenberg, or similar WordPress page-building tools.
  • Website Performance Optimization: Improve page loading speed through image optimization, caching, code improvements, and other performance-enhancement techniques.
  • Search Engine Optimization: Implement technical and on-page SEO best practices, including metadata, semantic HTML, URL structures, image attributes, and mobile responsiveness.
  • Security and Maintenance: Maintain website security by applying updates, monitoring vulnerabilities, managing backups, and following appropriate access-control practices.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve website errors, plugin conflicts, layout problems, broken links, and browser compatibility issues.
  • Responsive Design: Ensure websites provide consistent and accessible experiences across desktops, tablets, and mobile devices.
  • WooCommerce Support: Assist with e-commerce website development and maintenance using WooCommerce when required.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with designers and marketing teams to implement design concepts, landing pages, campaign updates, and content improvements.
  • Documentation and Quality Assurance: Test website functionality, document important changes, and follow development standards to ensure reliable and maintainable solutions.Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, or a related field is preferred.
  • 2–4 years of hands-on WordPress development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
  • Experience developing and customizing WordPress themes and plugins.
  • Practical knowledge of Elementor, Gutenberg, or comparable page builders.
  • Understanding of WordPress architecture, hooks, templates, and plugin compatibility.
  • Familiarity with website speed optimization, technical SEO, and responsive design.
  • Knowledge of website security, backups, updates, and troubleshooting practices.
  • Experience with WooCommerce is an advantage.
