Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled developer with solid coding proficiency in either JavaScript OR React.js who is ready to leverage their core programming skills in an automated testing and software quality engineering capacity.

In this role, you will apply development best practices directly to our test automation ecosystem. Whether your background is building modern React components or writing clean, modular JavaScript, your primary focus will be writing scalable automation code, building resilient test harnesses, and ensuring high frontend application reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Automation Code Development: Write clean, modular, and maintainable test automation scripts and frameworks using JavaScript (ES6+) or React-based testing setups.
  • Component & End-to-End Testing: Implement UI and integration test suites using modern automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Jest, or React Testing Library.
  • State & Network Simulation: Build robust test fixtures, API mocks, and state-driven test scenarios to validate complex user workflows.
  • Pipeline Integration: Integrate automated test scripts into continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to enable shift-left testing.
  • Debugging & Root Cause Analysis: Investigate broken builds, diagnose front-end rendering or asynchronous state defects, and collaborate with application developers to deliver fixes.
  • Quality Advocacy: Ensure testability and maintainability standards are factored into early application design.

Required Technical Skills

  • Core Language & Framework (Any one required):
  • Strong, hands-on programming skills in Core JavaScript (ES6+) (asynchronous programming, promises, DOM manipulation, closures, event loops), OR
  • Solid hands-on development experience with React.js (component hierarchy, lifecycle, hooks, and basic state management).
  • Testing & Automation Competencies:
  • Hands-on experience with at least one JavaScript test framework or runner (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, Puppeteer, Jest, WebdriverIO, or Mocha).
  • Understanding of web application architecture, HTTP requests, REST APIs, and JSON structures.
  • Experience handling dynamic DOM elements, async waits, and frontend timing issues without flaky assertions.
  • Engineering Tools:
  • Proficiency with Git/version control.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.).

Desirable / Good-to-Have Skills

  • Familiarity with TypeScript.
  • Experience with API testing tools (Postman, Supertest, or Axios-based testing).
  • Basic understanding of cross-browser compatibility and responsive UI testing.

Candidate Mindset

  • Comfortable with a role focused entirely on automated testing and quality engineering, while remaining an active coder.
  • Strong debugging, logical, and analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Clear communication skills for working with distributed development and QA teams.
