About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Backend Developer who can build, maintain and improve the server-side architecture of our digital products and applications. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience developing scalable backend systems, designing APIs, managing databases and ensuring smooth communication between different application components.

You will work closely with frontend developers, mobile developers, UI/UX designers and other team members to develop reliable solutions that support our business and product requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain backend services, applications and server-side components.
Build and integrate RESTful APIs to support web and mobile applications.
Develop efficient database structures, queries and data management systems.
Work with relational and non-relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
Implement authentication, authorisation and secure data-handling practices.
Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways and external services.
Identify and resolve performance issues, bugs and backend system errors.
Write clean, reusable, maintainable and well-documented code.
Collaborate with frontend and mobile development teams to ensure seamless application integration.
Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging and deployment activities.
Work with version control systems and deployment environments.

Required Skills and Experience

2–5 years of hands-on experience in backend development.
Strong proficiency in at least one backend programming language such as Node.js, Python, Java or PHP.
Experience in developing and integrating REST APIs.
Good understanding of database management, data modelling and query optimisation.
Knowledge of authentication methods, API security and server-side architecture.
Familiarity with Git, Docker and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
Understanding of application performance, scalability and debugging.
Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
