We are seeking a skilled and motivated Django Backend Developer (Python, Django) to design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services. This role focuses on API development, data modeling, backend architecture, security, and reliability. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build robust software solutions that support manufacturing, testing, and business processes. Our Team

Join the Web Solutions team, the digital engineering arm of DSS (Datacom & Specialty Solutions) within the Copper Solutions Business Unit (CSBU). As part of the Software Solution Group (SSG), you will contribute to software solutions that connect product development, engineering, manufacturing, and operations through enterprise applications, traceability systems, database platforms, system integrations, and analytics. You will work on building and supporting scalable backend applications that improve product quality, manufacturing execution, data integrity, and operational efficiency across the organization.

What You Will Do

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python and Django.
Build and manage RESTful APIs using Django REST Framework (DRF) to support QMS modules.
Implement authentication, authorization, and role‑based access controls for enterprise applications.
Ensure backend systems meet security, reliability, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Collaborate closely with frontend developers & database engineers to ensure seamless end‑to‑end integration.
Write unit, integration, and API tests using PyTest / Django Test Framework.
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, reliability issues, and production defects.
Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and best practices.
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment readiness, and environment configuration.
Maintain technical documentation for backend architecture, APIs, and data models.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.
3 to 5 years of professional experience in backend development.
Strong programming experience in Python.
Hands-on experience with the Django framework, ORM internals, query development, optimization, & troubleshooting in production environments.
Strong experience with Django REST Framework (DRF).
Proven experience in REST API design and development, including versioning and error handling.
Experience implementing authentication and authorization mechanisms such as JWT / OAuth and role-based access control.
Strong understanding of backend architecture, service-oriented design, and security best practices.
Experience writing unit and integration tests using PyTest / Django Test Framework.
Familiarity with Git and SDLC practices.
Strong problem-solving skills with attention to data accuracy, reliability, and maintainability.

What Will Put You Ahead

Experience building backend systems for Quality Management Systems (QMS) applications.
Experience with Celery / Redis or other asynchronous processing frameworks.
Familiarity with API security standards and audit logging.
Experience working in Agile / Scrum development environments.
