Qualification & Experience

Graduate degree in any discipline with at least 10 years of overall experience, of which a minimum of 2 years in a relevant role within a higher education institution or a related industry.

Role & Responsibilities

The incumbent will play a crucial role in supporting BITS Pilani's strategic objectives by ensuring the Institute's excellence is recognized and acknowledged through national and international rankings and accreditations. The primary purpose is to streamline the collection, compilation and submission of data to ranking agencies and accreditation bodies, ensuring compliance with their

requirements. Additionally, this role leverages data insights to inform evidence based decision-making within the Institute and maintains a robust reporting system for both internal and external stakeholders, thereby contributing to BITS Pilani's continuous improvement efforts, enhancing its global reputation and competitiveness. The detailed responsibilities are as under:

  • Coordinating with internal stakeholders for the validation of data required for ranking and reputation management purposes.
  • Collaborating with internal departments to ensure data accuracy and consistency and analyzing the data to identify areas for improvement and strategic planning.
  • Reporting & analyzing the data.
  • Addressing the reporting requirements of the internal stakeholders and external agencies and work towards improvising the methodology in order to ensure

efficient reporting of relevant processes and outputs.

  • Supporting the IQAC office in the preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) and the Self Study Report (SSR) to be submitted to NAAC.
  • Preparing and submitting reports for various awards, ranking and rating agencies and accreditation bodies within prescribed deadlines (UGC, NBA, NIRF, QS, QS I-Gauge, THE, Times, FICCI, CII etc.)
  • Maintaining a comprehensive and secure database of institutional data and performance metrics and staying current with ranking methodologies and accreditation criteria to adapt strategies accordingly.

Competencies & Skill Set

  • Technical Knowledge:- Strong understanding of ranking methodologies and accreditation processes in the context of Indian Higher Education Institutes (HEIs).
  • Proficiency in data analysis and data management tools such as Excel, MS Office, willingness to learn advanced analytics tools.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings effectively.
  • Desirable Excel Skills: Advanced Excel functions and formulas, creating and manipulating pivot tables, data visualization with charts and graphs, conditional formatting to highlight patterns, data manipulation for cleaning and transforming data, lookup and reference functions, statistical analysis for forecasting.
  • Behavioral Competencies:- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
  • Should have excellent project management and effective communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and across departments.
  • Time management and organizational abilities to meet tight deadlines.
