We're Hiring | Engineering Technical Lead – UAV Engineering

Location: Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu

At Yali Aerospace, we're looking for an experienced Technical Lead who understands what it takes to bring multiple engineering teams together and turn complex development efforts into successful products.

We're looking for someone with strong experience in the drone manufacturing industry, who can bring structure, coordination, and accountability to our engineering operations.

This isn't a hands-on UAV design role. It's a leadership position for someone who understands engineering deeply and knows how to guide teams, streamline processes, and ensure quality at every stage.

What will you be responsible for?

Reporting directly to our CTO, you'll oversee and coordinate three core engineering teams:

🔹 Product Development

🔹 Embedded Systems & Avionics

🔹 Software & Controls

Your key responsibilities:

✅ Monitor engineering activities, track milestones, and ensure timely delivery across all three teams.

✅ Drive cross-functional collaboration, resolve dependencies, and ensure alignment between engineering teams.

✅ Ensure compliance with applicable ISO standards, engineering procedures, and quality requirements across mechanical design, electrical, embedded, and software domains.

✅ Take complete ownership of engineering documentation, including technical specifications, design records, review reports, testing documentation, change management, and traceability.

✅ Establish and maintain structured engineering workflows, design review processes, documentation controls, and quality checkpoints.

✅ Identify technical risks, monitor project progress, and work closely with the CTO to ensure engineering priorities are executed effectively.

Who are we looking for?

We're particularly interested in professionals who have:

✔️ Prior experience in a similar engineering leadership role within a drone manufacturing company or UAV OEM or Similar domains.

✔️ Extensive technical knowledge across product development, avionics, embedded systems, software, and control systems.

✔️ Strong experience in 'OKR's planning, monitoring, and execution', engineering coordination, process management, quality standards, and technical documentation.

✔️ Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and manage complex development activities.

✔️ A structured, ownership-driven approach to engineering execution.
