The Role
As a Senior Backend Engineer (FastAPI & Python), you will design, build, and scale high-throughput REST APIs and distributed microservices that power global payment transactions and intelligent AI-driven workflows.
You will own both High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) for critical backend systems, ensuring fault tolerance, low latency, and strict security compliance. Beyond traditional backend engineering, you will collaborate with AI teams to integrate LLM and RAG services seamlessly into payment rails, fraud detection pipelines, and merchant analytics.
What You’ll Own
System Architecture & Design: Own HLD and LLD for scalable, resilient, and high-performance backend microservices processing payment transactions.
FastAPI & Python Development: Build production-grade, asynchronous REST APIs and backend services using Python, FastAPI, and modern concurrency frameworks.
AI & LLM Integration: Architect backend pipelines that interface with Large Language Models, vector search databases, and automated decision engines.
Database & Caching Management: Design efficient schemas, optimize queries, and manage high-throughput relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB) and caching layers (Redis).
Code Quality & Scalability: Establish rigorous coding standards, perform thorough code reviews, write comprehensive unit/integration tests, and ensure high system availability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with product managers, frontend teams, data engineers, and DevOps to deliver robust features from conception to production deployment.
What We’re Looking For
Experience: 2–5 years of professional backend software engineering experience, with deep expertise in Python and asynchronous frameworks (FastAPI/Flask).
Architectural Mastery: Proven track record in designing robust HLD and LLD for distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
AI Familiarity: Hands-on experience integrating AI/ML models, LLM APIs, or vector search engines into backend applications.
Data & Infrastructure: Strong proficiency with SQL databases, connection pooling, indexing strategies, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure, Docker, Kubernetes).
FinTech / High-Scale Mindset: Understanding of transaction security, PCI-DSS compliance, API security best practices, and ultra-low latency requirements.
